Last weekend we headed back to Madison, Georgia for the spring home and garden tour. It was a hot day but we had a nice time and saw so many beautiful homes and gardens.
Joshua Hill House ca. 1839, home to Senator Joshua Hill, “the man who saved Madison.”
I would have loved to take a dip in that pool! It was hot that day!
Jane has made a feline friend. Not too chatty though.
What a cute little cottage!

Broughton Hall ca. 1850 is a large manor {8,000 square feet!} built by prosperous city merchant, John A. Broughton.
I like the added on garage area, very Tuscan inspired.
Living areas filled with antiques. I love this mantle!
Part of the original house this adjoining room was once the ball room. Windows opened into doors and the party would move to the porch. This has now been converted into the center hallway, front and rear porches adjoining.
Back porch

Beautiful antique furnishings.
Interesting jewelry box.
Large bouquet of wild flowers. Purple Statis always reminds me of my hometown.
We saw tons of Blue Willow on the tour. Need to start collecting more pieces.
This sleepy cat wasn’t going to let hundreds of visitors deter it from a cat nap.
Tasha Tudor collection
What a cute go cart!
Pink Fairy Roses
The grounds are beautifully landscaped. A babbling brook leads downstream to a fish pond. So many different things to see!
Children’s garden. Jane had fun!

On the long walk back in the heat. This corner house is so cute, pretty flowers out front.
I thought this was too funny! The post office is/was apparently a fallout shelter. Sorry guys, only 250 of you will live.
We met shop cat Maddy at Belles & Beaux and met the lovely and talented Kathryn Greeley at her book signing!
What beautiful handwriting!
Kathryn and Jane have become fast friends. Checking out some of the lovely pictures in Kathryn’s book The Collected Tabletop: Inspirations for Creative Entertaining. So many beautiful tablescapes, delicious recipes, and lovely designs. Buy your copy today!

Ivy Cottage ca. 1853 is a quaint little cottage. Love this wire basket filled with flowers and herbs. Pink Girl thought it was cute too and created her own herb filled tiers.
I thought these embroidered pieces were so cute and clever. The embroidered calendar is so cute!
Well we had a great time on the tour and look forward to more Madison adventures in the future.
Yesterday we went on the Atlanta Botanical Gardens Gardens for Connoisseurs Tour and were inspired by all we saw. Check back soon, lots more to share!
Have a bright day!
