A Day At Hearst Castle
A few months ago I was able to visit Hearst Castle and was blown away at how beautiful it is and how much history, thousands of years old and from all over the world, is contained within its walls and gardens. Pictures cannot do it justice but I did take quite a few. Hearst Castle was built by William Randolph Hearst, started in the twenties and was never fully completed. The Hearst family never lived here full time, it was one of many vacation homes. Hearst collected artwork and architectural elements from across the globe including ancient Greek and Egyptian columns and sarcophagi which he used to decorate his outdoor swimming pool. Casa Grande is 60, 645 square feet and there are several smaller guest cottages, an outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts, an indoor mosaic pool, and multiple gardens on the property. The gardens are carefully cared for and smell divine from all the antique roses. From the top of the mountain you can see a beautiful expansive view of the Pacific Ocean. Enjoy!
Have a bright day!
