Hello everyone! I feel like I’ve been lax in the blogging department as of late. Things have just been busy, as you’ll see with future posts, and I haven’t had a lot of free time to write and prepare posts in a wifi setting, hopefully I’ll get that squared away at my house soon. Until then here is something fun to look at…we went to Shaker Village last year and we decided to go again in August for a longer trip and for their Farm to Table Garden Supper. The weather was very nice and, of course, I took lots of pictures. Enjoy!
Jane’s bags are packed!
We stopped in Chattanooga for some shopping and lunch. Our old stomping ground Yves Delorme is always fun to stop in and do some shopping. We always buys tons of soap {the best soap ever!} and I found this awesome Iosis pillow, I bought the long lumbar version of this embroidered pillow.
elizabeth W candles from San Fran. They all smell divine. The Sweet Tea candle really smells like sweet tea guys. What a great gift for a southerner!
Shopped at Lines. Ate at Public House. Delish!
Jane has found the perfect clutch!
I love the interior of Warehouse Row. Kind of a European/Industrial vibe.
We made it to Shaker Village just in time for bonfire marshmallow roasting :)
Mom fell in love with this little chicken. So funny!
What’s up girls?
Did a little shopping in the gift shop. Look at all those Shaker boxes!
Handmade Shaker brooms. Still made on site!
Aren’t these faux pumpkins gorgeous! I love the way they just used galvanized tubs to make this little arrangement. Fun!
We made a pit stop in downtown Harrodsburg to grab a bite at Kentucky Fudge Company, a converted drugstore ca. 1865 which has been beautifully restored using the original drugstore displays.
We visited Billy who makes all of the Shaker brooms at Shaker Village. We each bought a Billy broom! So cool, Shaker brooms are made to stand on their own!
Such a beautiful and peaceful place.
It’s Garden Supper time! The food was so delicious I forgot to take pictures of everything but rest assured it was enjoyed by all!
Going for a morning stroll.
Shaker Village has so much beautiful architecture.
It’s tough being a Shaker cat. What a rough life.
We’re headed down the river!
Look! He’s taking his doggie for a boat ride. So cute!
Ribbit!
We went stargazing while we were in SHaker Village. The night sky was so gorgeous and clear in the countryside. Because we got our star map we knew to look for the Crescent Moon and Venus the next night. Beautiful. :)
Jane is saying farewell to Shaker Village. We had a lovely time visiting and hope to return again soon.
Has anyone else attended a Garden Supper at Shaker Village?
Have a bright day!
