Bathroom Updates and Repurpose Project

So as a quick recap: This is what the living room looked like before I bought my house.
These are the original homeowners toile curtains which I actually really liked but didn’t want to use in my living room. I saved them to potentially use elsewhere and ultimately decided to have them made into my shower curtain.

This is how the bathroom looked before I bought my house.

I thought the curtains looked nice with the original tile.

I took down the original curtain rod and spray painted it a dark bronze color. I also repainted all the trim work with Benjamin Moore White Dove and the walls and ceiling BM Navajo White.

I found this vintage floral hook at an antiques store and the London canvas print at Target! Perfect touches!

Curtain repurpose project completed!

Front Garden Makeover

So I bought this adorable birdhouse at the Sunflower Festival early in the fall. I decided I would dig out and redo the small flower bed in my front yard which was totally overgrown with ivy. There was a sad red Knock Out rose bush and lots and lots of ivy. I dug out at least 4 large logs in that mess.

    

After I dug out the bed and put up the birdhouse I decided to start adding color and dimension. I dug out the sad Knock Out rose bush and transplanted it by the other one near the house.

This little rose popped up in the middle of my backyard in the spring. After it bloomed I dug it up and put it in a pot. When I planted the flowers under the birdhouse I dug up the red rose bush, moved it, and added this little pink rose to the bed. I added Russian Sage and some Shasta Daisies. Since then I’ve also added butterfly bush and transplanted some Iris bulbs that were totally out of control in the backyard.

The Knock Out Rose is so much happier! It bloomed several times after I replanted it! I can’t wait to see how everything blooms in the spring and keep adding to my flower beds.

More gardening to come in the spring. For now I’m hibernating! :)

12}Inside Your Closet~Well if you’ve been keeping up with my blog then you already know I’ve been reorganizing and cleaning out my closet. {Quick and Easy Refabulizing & Quick and Easy Organization}. Not much new to share but I did take a pic whilst debating what to wear to Pink Girl’s Valentine luncheon. It was wonderful as always! Be sure to check out her blog Marie Arden Pink Living.

14}Heart~The shirt I wore today{LOVE!}. I saw a lot of hearts today. We even had a Valentine parade at work today.

I also had a great time at Pink Girl’s Valentine luncheon. She is a great hostess and cook. {Delicious chocolate mouse heart from Douceur de France}. Always have a great time at chez pink and bonus we got to meet Snowflake and Soufflé-Marie plus all the new birdies

Miss Charlotte Moss looks lovely in her pink bow. And all the pretty birdies were very chatty.

New babies Snowflake and Soufflé-Marie are doing quite well. Snowflake is completely adorable and loves to play! {and sleep, haha}. If you’re considering adopting a kitty yourself be sure to check out Good Mews!

Binxy says Ooh La La! Are you making that pour moi? For dinner I made a delicious chicken pot pie. Very easy recipe {available here} cooked in a crock pot and made puff pastry hearts for the crust part of the pie! A little fresh tarragon to sprinkle on top, iced tea in a perfectly pink Jamestown tea glass, and pink and red Le Jacquard Francais complete the setting.
